“Loader” and “skid steer” usually mean the same thing in Phoenix rental yards. What actually matters is the width of the machine and the weight it will lift.
Rates
| Machine | Per day | Per week |
|---|---|---|
| Bobcat S70 compact loader (36″ wide) | $180 | $850 |
| Kubota SSV65 skid steer (65 HP, A/C cab) | $275 | $1,250 |
| Texas Pride 16ft dump trailer | $150 | — |
Compact loader or full-size?
The Bobcat S70 is a compact loader: 36 inches wide, 700 lb rated capacity, fits a standard side gate. The Kubota SSV65 is a full-size skid steer: 65 HP, 1,950 lb operating capacity, enclosed cab with A/C.
The honest rule is that access decides it, not the job. Measure your narrowest gate or gap before you book anything. If it is under about 40 inches, the S70 is the machine, whatever you are moving.
Tracks or wheels?
Both of ours are wheeled, which is the right answer for most Phoenix work — hard desert soil, gravel and rock. Tracked machines earn their keep on soft ground and steep slopes, which is not what most Valley properties are.
